Where to buy gluten-free pasta in the UAE — the honest 2026 guide

Finding gluten-free pasta in the UAE isn’t hard anymore. Finding good gluten-free pasta — the kind that holds al dente and doesn’t taste like the box — still takes some label-reading. Here’s the full map, including where our own Gluten-Free range sits, and what to check no matter whose pack you pick up.

In supermarkets

Most major UAE chains now run a free-from or specialty section:

  • Carrefour — the widest network (~100 branches); look in the healthy/free-from aisle alongside the regular pasta shelf.
  • Lulu Hypermarket — strong free-from sections in larger formats.
  • Spinneys & Waitrose — dedicated gluten-free and speciality pasta shelving, strongest in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
  • Choithrams, Union Coop, West Zone — availability varies by branch; each chain’s store locator is linked on our store finder.

Online (the fastest option)

Amazon.ae, Noon, Talabat Mart and Careem Quik all deliver gluten-free pasta same-day or next-day in the main cities. Specialty e-grocers like Casinetto and Classic Deli carry imported gluten-free lines if you’re exploring.

Three things to check on any gluten-free pack

  1. The allergen statement, not just the front of the pack. “Gluten-free” on the front is easy to print; the ingredient list and allergen statement on the back tell you what’s actually in the box and where it was made. Our Gluten-Free range lists chickpea flour, brown rice flour, tapioca starch and pea protein — no wheat, no gluten-containing grains in the recipe. Whatever brand you buy, read the back panel first. 2. What it’s actually made from. Corn-and-rice blends are the mildest; chickpea blends bring more protein and fibre per the label — ours lists 16g protein per 100g (dry). Check the ingredient list matches what you’re paying for.
  3. The cook-time window. Gluten-free pasta forgives less. A stated window of 6–7 minutes with a “stir early” note usually signals a blend engineered for texture, not just absence of wheat.

Cooking it right matters more than the brand

Gluten-free shapes want a rolling boil, an early stir and a minute less than you think. Full method: how to cook pasta perfectly al dente →. Then start with the gluten-free recipe collection → — dinners built and tested on our own 300g packs.
